ALPS SUMMER BARBEQUE EVENT AT RADISSON GOLDEN SANDS RESORT 19-07-2025
The ASSOCIATION OF LYCEUM PAST STUDENTS, ( ALPS ), held its last event before the 2025 summer recess. In a very well secluded and reserved area of the Flavours terrace area, the ALPS have gathered for a get together event / B-B-Q evening. The set up with nicely decorated tables in white cloths and an impeccable waiter service, have added to the merriment of this great evening. Nice relaxing music was played by DJ Mark Darmanin – the ALPS Secretary General, who worked ever so hard to a successful event. Aided of course by past Secretary Alex Borg, the dining arrangements turned out to be of superior quality and have pleased all the participants from beginning to end. Raffles were drawn to help the coffers of our association.
There were two star prizes consisting of one night stay with breakfast for two persons at the Radisson resort, plus a few food and wine hampers. All the participants could be seen watching very carefully for every number being drawn and, literally running to collect their winning prizes. A word of thanks goes to Mr. Ernest Barry of RGS, who always supports our association with best food prices as well as prize donations to raffle. The guests could be heard singing happy Birthday to one of the guests Joe Serge, and also auguring best wishes to another couple who were also present, Judge Emeritus Franco Depasquale and his charming wife Margaret, on the occasion of their celebrating a 57th wedding anniversary.
A word of thanks to Tony Buttigieg who looked after the sale of raffle tickets and must not forget our new friend Antoine Mifsud for coming along to help in setting up ALPS banner and other chores. A few words were addressed to the gathering by Immediate past President George Stagno Navarra, who thanked all those present for coming along and supporting this summer event. A few humorous anecdotes, brought smiles to those who have been present. Photos are attached to demonstrate the wonderful evening in the ALPS calendar of events for this year 2025. May all future occasions turn out to be as nice as this last BBQ gathering and may we have even more participants for our future social get together events. Our aim is always, to bring more and more people together not only from our Lyceum days, but from all those who can be willing to come and join us too.
