THE ALPS 2023 SUMMER BARBEQUE WENT EXCEPTIONALLY WELL
We may define the ALPS barbeque this year as a wonderful get together after a long period of time.
All those who have participated, were seen with smiling faces and one could easily observe that the
friendship of old amongst the ALPS members and friends has not died down.
Short speeches were delivered by outgoing ALPS President George Stagno Navarra, whilst a round of
applause heartily greeted the President Elect of ALPS – George Galea. They both mentioned the importance
of maintaining contact between the old and the New LYCEUM scholars, who wish to preserve the name of
one of the best secondary schools that ever existed in the Maltese Islands.
The selection of food prepared by the Radisson Golden Sands resort was really pleasing and to everyone’s taste
Raffles were drawn to raise funds for the ALPS finances. Many were seen leaving the venue holding envelopes with
Hotel vouchers they have won or even carrying gifts they had won in this draw that as usual, attracts great participation.
We are ever so grateful to the hotel management for their generous support by granting gifts vouchers. A word of
thanks goes to the kitchen and waiting staff who have been truly attentive and gave their very best with a smile.
The summer 2023 barbeque of ALPS was yet again another success for The Association of Lyceum Past Students.
