REMEMBERING THE DEAD<\/strong><\/p>\n

As has now become customary every month of November, the
\n Association of Lyceum Past Students will be holding Holy Mass
\n for the repose of the dear departed fellow members, other
\n past students and teachers of The Lyceum, relatives and friends.
\n This will be the first time that the list will include ALPS
\n Founder-President Guido Saliba, the first anniversary of whose
\n demise will be on 7th December.<\/p>\n

The service will be held at the St Anne Chapel in Pwales
\n Valley at 4.15 p.m. on Saturday 19th November. Mass will be
\n said by ALPS Spiritual Director Fr William Bartolo OFM Conv.<\/p>\n

It is very easy for anyone to pray for their dead relatives
\n and friends, but doing it all together gives our prayers a
\n special feel and meaning.<\/p>\n

\n OCTOBER\u2019S SOCIO-CULTURAL EVENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

the ALPS socio-cultural event for October – the visits to
\n Mdina Glass, Aviation Museum and Bristow Potteries on the
\n 22nd instant – went off very well. <\/p>\n

All participants really enjoyed themselves, not least with
\n the slap-up Maltese-style luncheon at Bristow Potteries\u2019
\n Ta\u2019 Franci Cafeteria. This sort of success always encourages
\n the Council of Administration in its planning for more events.<\/p>\n

\n YULETIDE DINNER<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the calendar being what it is, it always happens that
\n mention of the Requiem Mass in ALPS News is almost immediately
\n followed by an announcement of the ALPS Yuletide Dinner, which
\n is held in the first half of December in order to allow space
\n for members\u2019 later personal events.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Yuletide Dinner, at 8 for 8.30 p.m. on
\n Friday 2nd December<\/strong>, will be a veritable
\n piece de resistance. ALPS President George Stagno Navarra
\n has managed to wangle the Grand Ballroom of the brand-new
\n Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa<\/strong>
\n in its very first Christmas season in operation, with a fantastic
\n menu at an unbelievable price (see overleaf). There will be
\n attractive raffle prizes and parking will be on the hotel
\n premises, so we expect to have a greater response than usual,
\n for more reasons than one \u2026<\/p>\n
